Foundation Day celebrated

Imphal, August 18 2024: The 18th Foundation Day of Disabled Development Association Manipur (DDAM) was celebrated today at Community Hall, Wangkhei Durga Puja Lampak.

It was graced by State Commissioner for Person with Disability, Manipur, Waikhom Birahari Singh; Social Welfare Department, Deputy Director, L Dhaneshwar Singh; CRCSRE Imphal, Director, N Khoibi Singh; DDAM advisor, Dr Kiran Yendrembam; DDAM advisor & Thambal Academy School founder, Dr Md Wahajuddin and DDAM advisor & advocate, Golmei Paosing as presidium members.

The Foundation Day celebration began with the felicitation of dignitaries followed by the offering of floral tribute to a photograph of Late Laishram Dineshchandra, former president of DDAM.

As part of the celebration, DDAM also felecitated Dr M Amarjit Singh (National & International Awardee 2024), Ch Lokeshori Devi (Asia Oceania Wheelchair Basketball player for Indian Women Team 2024) and Md Yunus Khan (Asia Oceania Wheelchair Basketball assistant coach for Indian Women Team 2024) .

Moreover, the Kaleidoscopic Artiste Association also celebrated its 14th Foundation Day at Sagolband Meino Leirak Maisnam Nongthombam Leikai Community Hall today.

As part of the celebration, Kaleidoscopic Artiste Association also released two new Classical Manipuri Dance productions.

The event was attended by Ningthoujam Munish Singh, Zonal Director, Indian Council For Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry 'of External Affairs, Government of India, Sinam Dhananjoy Singh and N Tiken Singh, Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee as presidium members.

Felicitation of senior artists and presentation of five Classical Manipuri Dances namely Chali, Beharati (Basanta Vaman), Dasavatar, Pung Cholom and Basanta Ras by the artists of Kaleidoscopic Artiste Association were the other highlights of the event.
