3-day district-level training for Census 2027 begins in Senapati

Senapati, February 17 2026:
A three-day District-Level Training programme for Census 2027, focusing on House Listing and Housing Census (HLO), commenced today at the Conference Hall of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Senapati.
The training is being jointly organised by the Directorate of Census Operations, Manipur, and the District Administration, Senapati, under the supervision of the Principal Census Officer (PCO), Senapati.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Commissioner of Senapati and PCO, Mamoni Doley, welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of the upcoming census exercise.
She noted that the 16th Census, originally scheduled for 2021, was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Urging the trainees to make the most of the sessions, she called for seamless coordination among Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) and staff to ensure the successful conduct of Census 2027.The training sessions are being led by Joseph Lanah, Deputy Director, Directorate of Census Operations (DCO), Manipur, and Yeveinai Kh, Statistical Investigator Grade-II, DCO, Manipur.
The curriculum includes an introduction to Census 2027, role of census functionaries and legal provisions, fund management, manpower planning, publicity activities, building the foundation of Census, procedures, concepts and definition used in Census.
The trainees were also provided hands-on training on the Census Management and Monitoring System covering user registration, modules features and management.
The programme was attended by PP Ronald, Additional District Magistrate and District Census Officer, Senapati; Nydia Nengneichong Mate, District Statistical Officer and Addl Deputy Census Officer, Senapati; Sub-Divisional Officers and its staff.
