Imphal, August 16 2025: Kabui Mothers' Association (KAMA) has filed a police complaint seeking action against derogatory and defamatory remarks against freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu being circulated on social media.

In the complaint filed with the Superintendent of Police, Imphal West, KAMA said malicious messages referring to Rani Gaidinliu as a "prostitute" have been found circulated on WhatsApp.

The derogatory remark is not only an attack on the honour of late Rani Gaidinliu but also an insult to the sentiments of the entire Kabui (Rongmei) Naga community, the freedom fighters' families, people of Manipur and the people of India at large, said KAMA, seeking actions under relevant sections of the BNS .
