Tree plantation drive concludes

Imphal, August 16 2024: As part of the Government of India's Plant4Mother initiative, the State Bank of India (SBI) Imphal Region has successfully organised a large-scale tree plantation drive in the State.

The drive saw active participation from 61 SBI offices and branches across the districts of Imphal West, Imphal East, Churachandpur, Bishnupur, Pherzawl, Ukhrul, Noney, Senapati, Kangpokpi, Kakching, Chandel, Jiribam, Tengnoupal and Thoubal, resulting in the plantation of 6,500 saplings at various locations.

The drive commenced on August 13 with the plantation of 5,000 tree saplings and concluded on August 15 with an additional 1,500 saplings planted.

Yesterday, the main event was held at Mata village, Churachandpur where SBI Churachandpur Branch led the initiative in collaboration with SBI RACC Churachandpur.

The Regional Business Office of SBI extended its heartfelt gratitude to all the volunteers, District Forest Offices and community members who contributed in making the plantation drive a grand success.
