SLYO celebrates 33rd foundation day at Tekcham

Thoubal, December 14 2025: The Standard Library cum Youth Organisation (SLYO), Tekcham, celebrated its 33rd foundation day today at Tekcham Mayai Leikai Community Hall.

The event was attended by SLYO president Soubam Suren; UCM president YK Dhiren; SLYO founder president L Meino; Khongjom Standard English School Retd Principal, L Shyamananda; Langathel Zilla Parishad former member S Kulabidhu; Tekcham GP chairperson L Damayanti; Tekcham Girls Upper Primary School, Headmaster Mutum Tombimacha; and Tekcham Mayai Leikai Meira Paibi, president L Babita Devi as presidium members.

The programme began with the hoisting of the organisation's flag by the dignitaries.

The gathering later observed a moment of homage in memory of those who lost their lives during the ethnic violence that broke out in the State, followed by the exchange of charge of the newly elected office bearers of the Club.

Former members of the organisation and club members from different clubs of Tekcham were also honoured with simple gifts in recognition of their contributions to the society.

Addressing the gathering, YK Dhiren said that clubs play a vital role in the development of society and localities.

He noted that the pace of development in the global era has significant impact on the youth and stressed the need for parents and youths to understand and address emerging challenges collectively.

He further stated that many challenges lie ahead and emphasised the importance of collective efforts with cooperation from Meira Paibis, Clubs and Singlups of every locality, guided by honesty and shared vision.
