Sardar@150 Unity March held at Jiribam, Senapati

The District Administration Jiribam, in collaboration with MY Bharat, organized the Unity March Sardar@150 Padyatra on Friday as part of the year-long celebration commemorating the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The Padyatra was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner, Jiribam Krishna Kumar, from Echel Club Dibong to DC Office Complex, Jiribam.
The Unity March, held in Jiribam, aimed to inspire youth and citizens to uphold the values of national integration, strength through unity, and commitment to nation-building.
Over 500 participants, including senior officials, NSS, NCC, My Bharat volunteers, Indian Red Cross Society Jiribam Branch, police personnel, students, Self Help Groups, and local organizations, enthusiastically joined the march.
Speaking at the event, DC Krishna Kumar appealed to the youth to draw inspiration from Sardar Patel's vision and legacy.
He emphasized that the youth are the future leaders of the society and the nation, and they need to bring laurels at different levels.
He further encouraged the youth to tap into their potential and energy to strengthen the bonds with every part of the country.
DC Krishna Kumar led a floral tribute to the portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, accompanied by distinguished dignitaries on the dais.
Dr O Radheshyam Singh, Programme Officer, NSS Unit Jiri College, administered the Bharat Atma Nirbhar pledge to the gathering.
The event featured vibrant cultural dances performed by the NSS Unit of Jiri College, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Additionally, sports materials were distributed to 20 youth clubs of Jiribam affiliated with Mera Yuva Bharat.
As part of the celebration, MY Bharat logo T-shirts and caps were distributed to participants.
Prizes were also awarded to the winners of the Essay Competition, which was organized in connection with the event.
The event served as a fitting tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's vision of a united India, reaffirming the collective resolve of the people of Jiribam to uphold the ideals of unity, service, and nation-building.
Meanwhile, in commemoration of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, a Districtlevel Padyatra (Unity March) was held today at Don Bosco College (Autonomous), Maram under the theme "Ek Bharat - Aatmanirbhar BharatK".
The programme was organised by Mera Yuva Bharat, Senapati, in collaboration with District Youth Affairs and Sports, and National Service Scheme Cell.
Altogether, around 200 students and teachers participated in Sardar @150 Padyatra- Unity March.
The Padyatra- Unity March began with the floral tribute and lighting of candle to the portrait of Sardar Vallabhai Patel led by Rev Fr Dr Sabastian KD SDB, Principal, Don Bosco College (Autonomous), Maram followed by programme organisers.
Addressing the gathering, Rev Fr Dr KO Sabastian, Principal, Don Bosco College of Maram emphasized on the life of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, who had united more than 300 princely states under one during the British colonial period and continued to be a proud citizen working as one.
He also expressed his happiness to take part in Padyatra - Unity March.
Later, he also flagged off Sardar@ 150 Padyatra- Unity March from College campus to Kavanam As part of the programme, John Britto, Programme Officer National Service Scheme administered the Atma Nirbhar pledge to the participants in today's Unity March.
