The humanitarian initiative was spearheaded by the Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organisation (KWWO) under the acknowledgement and support of the Kangpokpi Town Committee.
The massive relief drive culminated in the donation of 280 blankets, 51 bags of clothes, 2 bags of utensils, and Rs 33,000 in cash.
The relief materials and cash contributions were formally handed over to the Relief Incharge of Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU) by KWWO at its office in Kangpokpi today.
From daily wage earners to business owners, homemakers to youth volunteers, contributions poured in as a testament to the district's enduring spirit of unity.
Members of KWWO personally supervised the collection, sorting, and packaging of donated items, ensuring that all materials were in usable condition and ready for distribution.
Their leadership not only streamlined the relief effort but also inspired widespread participation across the town.
CoTU general secretary Janglim Khongsai noted that the scale of response underscores Kangpokpi town's longstanding tradition of standing firmly with communities in distress, regardless of geographical boundaries.
Community leaders lauded KWWO for setting a benchmark in humanitarian coordination, describing the initiative as "a shining example of women-led social responsibility and collective action" .
