Lions Club of Ningthoukhong honours meritorious students, achievers

Bishnupur, July 12 2026: The Lions Club of Ningthoukhong on Sunday organised its 14th Meritorious Award Distribution Ceremony at Ningthoukhong Lamlong Khunou Bazar, honouring outstanding students from the Thinungei-Nachou area for their academic achievements in the Class X and XII examinations conducted by BOSEM, COHSEM and CBSE .

A total of 20 students were felicitated during the programme, with 10 students each selected from Class X (BOSEM and CBSE) and Class XII (COHSEM and CBSE) .

They were presented with cash awards and citations in recognition of their outstanding performance.

The club also honoured RK Dayananda Singh of Ningthoukhong Ward No 8 and Kh Robindro Singh of Ward No 5 for qualifying in the Manipur Combined Civil Services Competitive Examination (MCCSCE), 2026 .

Salam Nirmalasachi Chanu, who was awarded a PhD by Manipur University in June 2026, was also felicitated.

The programme also featured the installation ceremony of the new Board of Directors of the Lions Club of Ningthoukhong for the Lionistic Year 2026-27 .

Lion Kh Ramananda Singh was installed as president, Lion RK Nodiyachand Singh as secretary and Lion S Madhumati as treasurer.

During the function, Lion Prof N Romi Singh, PMJF, also assumed charge as Vice District Govemor-2 of Lions District 322-D for the current Lionistic year.

The programme was attended by Vice District Govemor-2 Lion Prof N Romi Singh, PMJF, as chief guest, Lions Club of Ningthoukhong president Lion Dr S Shantibala as president of the function, and Lion Dr Th Gourabidhu Singh, MJF, One Star Commandant, as the guest of honour.
