Free dental health camp organised for children at Kodompokpi Relief Camp

Imphal, July 11 2025:
A free oral and dental health check-up camp was organised at the Kodompokpi Relief Camp today by the Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Dental College, RIMS, Imphal as part of "Nanhi - Muskaan (Little Smile) - Outreaching activities for the underprivileged children under "ISPPD, 2025" .
The event was held in collaboration with the Department of Public Health Dentistry, Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics Dental College, RIMS.
Imphal, EcoNetwork Manipur and the Samagra Shiksha, Education Department, Government of Manipur.
The camp focused on improving the oral health and well-being of underprivileged children and adolescents staying at the relief camp.
The camp was supervised by Dr Bhoomika Wairokpam, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Dental College, RIMS, Imphal along with a team of dedicated doctors, including Dr Anjuman Shahni Kh, Dr Jyoti Kumari, Dr Prasanta Das and Dr Zulubenla Jamir, Dr Obit Melong, and Dr Boyin Libang.
Awareness on communicable diseases and oral hygiene was also raised during the event.
Dr Bhoomika Wairokpam delivered talks on communicable diseases and oral hygiene, while Dr Anjuman Shahni Kh demonstrated brushing technique and handwashing techniques.
Apart from dental checkups, children were provided with toothbrushes, clothes, light refreshments, various books (72 nos of which were donated by Books and Coffee, Singjamei Thokchom Leikai, faculties and students of Dental College RIMS, Imphal).
Items such as notebooks, colouring books and colours, pens, pencils, erasers were also distributed.
