Imphal, June 11 2024:
The Apunba Ireipakki Maheiroi Sinpanglup (AIMS) has urged the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) to cancel the official recognition of Maipakpi New Age Public School, Langthabal.
A statement issued by Nandita Ngasepam, education & academic affairs secretary, AIMS, has alleged that Maipakpi New Age Public School was closed and non-operational for many years but surprisingly, many students from the school appeared in the Class X examination conducted by BOSEM.
In their press release, AIMS questioned how a school that does not have a single school authority/official still manages to function.
In addition, AIMS also attempted to meet the school founder many times but without success, it claimed.
On another note, Apunba Ireipakki Maheiroi Sinpanglup has inquired if conducting examinations and issuing recognition/affiliation orders are the sole functions of BOSEM.
Due to lack of scrutiny on the part of BOSEM, some individuals have turned private schools into a money-minting business and students into currency, accused AIMS.
Thus, AIMS has urged BOSEM authority to conduct inspections across all schools affiliated with the Board to ascertain if BOSEM rules and regulations are being followed in their premises.
In addition, AIMS has also submitted a list of schools that allegedly view education solely as a profit making business to the Chairman and Secretary of Board of Secondary Education Manipur and demanded strict action against them.
