Bishnupur holds first District Sabha on formulation of DDP

Bishnupur, March 11 2025: Bishnupur district holds first District Sabha on formulation of District Development Plan (DDP) for Bishnupur district was held today at the Zilla Parishad Conference Hall, DPRC, Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur.

The District Sabha was organised by Zilla Parishad, Bishnupur.

The District Panchayat Planning Committee (DPPC) was constituted ahead of the 1 st District Sabha.

It comprised 34 members including Chief Executive Officer (CEO) RD & PR, Block Development Officers (BDOs), District Level Officers (DLOs) of different departments among others.

Program Management Unit Consultants, Sohadeva and K Johnson attended the Sabha as resource persons and emphasized on the inclusion of major flagship schemes of Central and State Governments in the planning.

Speaking at the event, Bhungba Maibam, CEO, RD & PR highlighted that the main aim of the Sabha is to initiate discussions on potential developmental works that can uplift the rural areas of the district with strategic development planning.

He emphasized that the meeting serves as a platform for ensuring that all projects to be planned align with the guidelines set by the relevant ministry.

Bhungba Maibam also outlined the nine themes of the District Panchayat Development Plan (DPDP), which will guide the planning and implementation of developmental projects in the district.

The themes included Poverty Free and Enhanced Livelihood Village, Healthy village, Child Friendly Village, Water Sufficient Village, Clean & Green Village, Villages with Self-Sufficient Infrastructure, Socially Just and Socially Secured Village, Villages with Good Governance and Women-Friendly Village.

Bhungba Maibam urged all members of the District Panchayat Planning Committee (DPPC) to focus their planning efforts on the specific needs of the district.

He encouraged them to prioritize local issues and ensure that these themes are integrated into the development projects for a sustainable and inclusive future.

The meeting was also attended by T Shyamkumar Singh, BDO Nambol CD Block, Rishikanta Loitongbam, BDO Bishnupur CD Block and Hemam Ricky Singh, BDO Moirang CD Block, DLOs and other members of the District Panchayat Planning Committee (DPPC) .
