Imphal, August 10 2026:
The Tangkhul Aze Katamnao Long (TAKL) has advised all organisations and individuals against obstructing or hindering the implementation of the NH-102A upgradation project.
The project, approved by the MoRTH, to upgrade the National Highway-102A (Shangshak-Tengnoupal) into a two-lane highway must be allowed to proceed without any interference or hindrance, said the TAKL in a statement.
This long-awaited infrastructure project is of immense importance and is expected to greatly enhance connectivity, transportation, economic growth, and the overall well-being of the people of the region.
Therefore, all villagers and individuals who have constructed unauthorized houses, buildings, shops, or any other structures within the proposed road alignment should voluntarily remove the structures and cooperate with the authorities concerned for smooth implementation of the project, it said.
If this vital project is delayed or de-sanctioned due to illegal and unauthorized constructions, those responsible for such encroachments shall be held accountable for obstructing a development project of immense public importance, it added.
At the same time, the Government and the departments concerned should conduct a comprehensive inspection of the entire stretch, take appropriate action against all illegal encroachments in accordance with the law, and ensure that the execution of this important project begins without further delay, said the TAKL .
