Har Ghar Tiranga campaign begins in Jiribam, Noney

Jiribam/Noney, August 09 2026: The Har Ghar Tiranga (HGT) campaign 2026 began across Jiribam and Noney districts on Sunday with patriotic activities, including a cycle rally, flag hoisting and Tiranga-themed programmes at child care institutions, as part of the Independence Day celebrations.

In Jiribam, Deputy Commissioner Arvind Hanglem flagged off a cycle rally from the Hijam Irabot Statue to Echel Club to mark the launch of the district-level campaign.

Around 30 cyclists, including local residents, students and security personnel, participated in the rally, led by Superintendent of Police Prakhar Pandey.

Addressing the participants, the DC appreciated the youth, hockey players, police and security personnel for taking part in the rally despite heavy rainfall.

He said the weather had delayed the programme but could not dampen the patriotic spirit of the participants.

As part of the day's programme, flag hoisting and singing of the National Anthem were also held at Child Care Institutes in Jiribam as part of the campaign.

The fifth edition of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign will continue from August 9 to 17.As part of the district programme, Vande Mataram exhibitions will be organised at local schools on August 10, while Tricolour-themed rangoli decorations will be taken up at Lairembi and Gulamchat Children's Homes for Girls on August 12.Schools across Jiribam have also been encouraged to decorate their campuses with Tiranga-inspired artwork, quotations of freedom fighters and excerpts from the National Song, Vande Mataram.

Citizens have been urged to hoist the National Flag at their homes, institutions and workplaces and share their "Selfie with Tiranga" on the Har Ghar Tiranga portal during the campaign period.

Meanwhile, the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign was also observed at Child Care Institutions under Mission Vatsalya in Noney district, with children and staff participating enthusiastically in various Tiranga-themed activities.

The programme, organised by the respective Child Care Institutions in collaboration with the District Child Protection Unit, Noney, under the Social Welfare Department and the supervision of the District Administration, aimed at fostering patriotism, national unity and respect for the National Flag among children.

The children participated in activities promoting the message of Har Ghar Tiranga and encouraging people to proudly hoist the Tricolour at their homes.

The programme also highlighted the values of unity in diversity, patriotism and responsible citizenship.

The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, being held from August 9 to 17, seeks to encourage citizens across the country to celebrate the National Flag and reaffirm the spirit of national unity.
