MoU inked to foster academic excellence, research collaborations

Imphal, July 09 2025: The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Manipur has entered into a partnership with Dhanamanjuri (DM) University to foster academic excellence and research collaborations.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Wednesday by Prof Chandbabu, Vice Chancellor of DM University, and Prof Krishnan Baskar, Director, IIIT Manipur with the shared objective of enhancing interdisciplinary academic cooperation between the two institutions.

As per a release issued by IIIT Manipur, the MoU envisions the promotion of joint academic and research activities, exchange of scholarly knowledge, and the development of collaborative research projects.

Both institutions have agreed to share educational resources and research outputs to enrich teaching and learning experiences.

The partnership also includes the organisation of joint seminars, workshops, and conferences on themes of mutual interest, along with the facilitation of faculty participation in such events.

A key aspect of the agreement is the mutual sharing of laboratory and research infrastructure, enabling access for students and faculty.

The MoU also encourages PhD co-guidance, wherein eligible faculty members from DM University can serve as co-supervisors for doctoral research at IIIT Manipur.

In addition, the institutions have committed to exploring short-term faculty exchange opportunities, including visiting assignments, under mutually agreed terms.

The MoU marked a significant step towards creating a dynamic academic environment that supports innovation, knowledge exchange, and long-term institutional synergy between IIIT Manipur and DM University.
