Assam Rifles conducts 'Vande Mataram' campaign across State

Imphal, August 08 2026: Assam Rifles conducted a series of community awareness and youth engagement programmes across several districts of Manipur on August 7 and 8 as part of the nationwide commemoration of 150 years of Vande Mataram and the ongoing Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.

According to a statement issued by IGAR (South), the initiative aimed at instilling national pride and responsible citizenship.

On August 7, awareness programmes were held at various locations.

COB L Koireng interacted with 150 students and 50 residents at Sangaithel Vocational School, Imphal West, while COB Nambol engaged 301 students at Bethel English School and COB Irengbam reached out to 70 villagers at Wainam Village, Bishnupur.

Similar programmes were conducted by COB Komlakhong with 120 residents in Imphal West and COB Waroiching with 80 villagers in Kangpokpi.

Around 150 students of Assam Rifles Public School (ARPS), Keithelmanbi, also participated in a special session on Vande Mataram.

In Chandel, Sajik Tampak Battalion conducted an interactive session for 80 students and five teachers of Brighter Foundation School, distributing stationery and chocolates.

At Bongjang in Tengnoupal, 150 youth participated in an awareness programme on the historical significance of Vande Mataram, while ARPS Shangshak in Ukhrul organised a ceremonial recitation and discussion on national service for 45 students and 10 teachers.

On August 8, a 17-member Assam Rifles contingent organised a painting competition and Tiranga Rally at Zilla Parishad Creative English School, Lilong, Thoubal.

Sixty students, guided by four teachers, participated in the event and depicted national symbols through their artwork before taking a collective pledge to uphold national unity and integrity.
