Uikey gives financial assistance for purchasing ambulance

Imphal, May 08 2024:
Governor Anusuiya Uikey has handed over financial assistance for the purchase of an ambulance to be operated in hill districts to the Secretary of IRCS, Senapati District Branch, Manipur at Raj Bhavan, Imphal today.
According to a press release issued by the Governor's Secretariat, the Governor had assured to provide well-equipped ambulances in hill districts in an earlier meeting with the IRCS, Senapati District Branch.
Expressing their gratitude, the IRCS Senapati team briefed the Governor on their humanitarian service at relief camps and to help victims of the recent hailstorm in the State.
The Governor encouraged IRCS, Senapati to continue their selfless service for those in distress.
In addition, Dr Swapan Kachop, Chief of Operations, Medecines Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) along with two others called on Governor Uikey at Raj Bhavan today and highlighted their services in providing humanitarian medical care for the people in Manipur since 2005 .
They also mentioned services rendered to displaced people in relief camps and their challenges in transportation of medical supplies to different parts of the State post the ethnic clash.
Appreciating their noble acts, the Governor assured them of assistance from her office whenever the need arises.
Registrar, Manipur University, Professor W Chandbabu Singh, Professor N Tejmani Singh, HOD, Commerce, Professor Robita Sorokhaibam and Professor A Rajmani Singh, Director, IQAC also called on the Governor and extended an invitation for an upcoming international conference to be held at Manipur University.
