Imphal, February 08: A three day National seminar on the topic Pre and Proto History of North East India was inaugurated at Kangla Hall, Imphal today.

The inaugural function of the seminar jointly organised by the Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts New Delhi, State Archeology Department and the Manipur Film Development Corporation was attended by Education Minister L Jayantakumar, former Principal of DM College of Commerce Dr Okram Kumar and Archeology Director Dr Kh Sarojini as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

Many scholars speaking on the occasion stressed on the importance of reconstructing the pre and proto history of the North East region.

Many other resource persons also presented papers in the technical session.

The seminar also featured a photo exhibition.
