KVK Imphal East's 13th SAC Meet charts course for agricultural advancements

Imphal, February 07 2026: The 13th Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Imphal East, was held today at the NEC Central Farm of the Central Agricultural University (CAU) in Lamphelpat, Imphal.

Chaired by Prof Ph Ranjit Sharma, Director of Extension Education (DEE), CAU, Imphal, the meeting brought together experts, farmers, and stakeholders to review KVK's activities and plan for the future.

Dr Ch Basudha, Head of ICAR, Imphal; Dr Dipak Nath and Dr I Bhupenchandra, Deputy Directors of DEE, CAU, Imphal; and Dr Y Prabhabati, Senior Scientist and Head of KVK, Imphal East also attended the meeting as presidium members.

In his address, Prof Ph Ranjit stated the SAC meeting is held annually to review the activities and decisions made in the previous year, the technologies and knowledge disseminated to farmers, and identifying any shortcomings.

He asserted that the meeting is a crucial platform for all stakeholders, including experts from related departments, representatives from NABARD, farmer representatives, FPOs, and others, to discuss issues and formulate an action plan for the current year.

The meeting also deliberated on the Annual Report for 2025 and the Action Plan for 2026, aiming to enhance agricultural practices and outreach in the region.
