4th Sintakpa Ningsing Thouram observed at Wabagai Hr Sec School

Thoubal, October 06 2025: In connection with the observance of World Teachers' Day, 2025, the 1976 batch of Alumni from Wabagai Higher Secondary School organised the 4th Sintakpa Ningsing Thouram at the Recreation Hall of the Institute on Sunday.

The event was graced by Kakching Higher Secondary School, Retd Principal Elangbam Surchand; Vice Chancellor of DMU & MTU, Prof Wahengbam Chandbabu; former Dean of Humanities, Manipur University, Prof Moirangthem Mani as presidium members.

The gathering, comprising alumni and faculty members, paid floral tributes to the memorial stone of the school's founding members and to the portraits of former teachers and alumni who had contributed to the institution's growth and legacy.

In his welcome address, M Joy highlighted that education is the foundation of civilisation and culture, helping individuals not only shape their futures but also contribute meaningfully to society.

He likened teachers to candles that give light in darkness, remarking that their unwavering dedication continues to guide generations of students.

He further encouraged the teaching community to stay committed to their noble mission despite the challenges they face, emphasizing that true education builds character and compassion.

Professor Wahengbam Chandbabu in his address stated that "Sintakpa Ningsing Thouram", initiated by the 1976 batch of Alumni, focuses on strengthening teh bond between students and teachers while recognising their collective contribution to society.

He stated that modem Teacher's Day celebrations often lose their essence and reminded everyone of the importance of gratitude, respect, and the timeless bond between teacher and student.

As part of the event, former teachers who served at the institute during 1976 were also felicitated for their invaluable service and lifelong dedication to nurturing young minds.
