Union calls off strike

The Loktak Development Authority Workers and Employees Union have called off the sit-in protest and cease work strike launched from October 1 and 4 respectively after reaching an agreement with the LDA Chairman and State Government.
This was informed by P Shyamkumar, secretary, Loktak Development Authority Workers and Employees Union during a press conference held at LDA office, Toupokpi.
He informed that the move comes after Loktak Development Authority Chairman M Ashnikumar assured the Union to fulfill their demands during an emergency meeting convened today.
The press briefing was also attended by Th Ibomcha, president, LDA Workers and Employees Union; working president Kh Ranjit as well as workers and other employees.
Notably, the Union has been demanding equal benefits for LDA employees as workers in other Government departments, among others.
