Fire Fighting Mock Drill conducted at Classic Grande

Homeland Security, an enterprise of Homeland Group, in partnership with the Classic Group of Hotels, successfully conducted a firefighting and evacuation mock drill today at Classic Grande, Imphal.
The exercise was designed to strengthen fire safety preparedness, raise awareness among hotel staff and guests, and test emergency response systems in a real-world scenario.
The drill began with an awareness session, where Homeland Security experts briefed participants on common fire hazards, safe evacuation procedures, emergency exit use, and communication protocols during crises.
Staff and guests were sensitised on the importance of calm, coordinated responses in ensuring safety.
It was followed by a live demonstration of fire fighting techniques.
Trainers from Homeland Security, led by Mahes Elangbam, showcased the correct use of different types of fire extinguishers including water, CO, foam, and ABC dry powder-and explained their application in tackling various classes of fire.
The team also demonstrated the use of fire hydrants and hose reels, ensuring participants were familiar with hotel-specific safety equipment.
Selected staff members actively took part in hands-on practice, reinforcing their confidence and readiness.
