Herbert School teachers undergo training to foster positive school culture

A two-day training programme for Herbert School teachers kicked off today at the school auditorium, focusing on "How to transform School Environment into a Positive School Culture" .
The initiative, conducted by Hyderabad-based organisation Happy School Culture, aimed to equip teachers with clear and actionable tools for handling disciplinary challenges and improving classroom management.
The inaugural session saw the presence of dignitaries, including Principal Dr K Nabachandra Singh, Vice Principal K Tiken Singh, Academic Coordinator Kh Hemanta, and Shanti Swaroop Sriramula, a counselling psychologist from Happy School Culture, serving as the resource person.
The first day's session focused on crucial topics such as positive discipline, gaining co-operation and the concept of 'Connect Before Correct' .
The session commenced with an introductory and welcome address delivered by Kh Hemanta highlighting the objectives of the training programme.
Shanti Swarup led the training session, emphasizing key areas like tackling student disciplinary issues, leveraging positive discipline to gain cooperation, turning challenges into life skill opportunities, and building strong teacher-student bonds before addressing behavioural issues.
A brainstorming session followed, with teachers working in groups to explore ways to connect with students while addressing behavioural issues.
The interactive training session sparked lively discussions and idea-sharing among teachers, making it a productive and impactful experience.
It concluded on a high note, setting the stage for a more positive school environment.
The programme is expected to greatly benefit the teachers and contribute towards creating a more positive and nurturing school environment.
The second day's session is scheduled to cover teacher emotional intelligence, discipline styles & impact, and understanding behaviour.
