Imphal, April 06 2025:
"Joyful Parenting" - a programme to guideparents and improve their relationship with children was held at the Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS) auditorium at Palace Compound, Imphal today.
The programme was organised by Little Millennium.
During the event, Little Millennium's Regional Manager (Academics), Piya Mukherjee said parenting is a tough job and a rewarding journey.
Children must be given lessons on listening and speaking first, she said.
While listening and speaking lessons must come first, many parents give priority on teaching writing skills to children, she added.
Piya also stressed that children nowadays lack physical exercise and spending too much time on TV and mobile phones have spoiled their childhood.
Parents must monitor and supervise their children's exposure to social media, she added.
"Spending time with your kids and listening to them are important.
Parents must take their kids to the park and teach them social skills," Piya said.
Little Millennium's senior manager (Academics) Shanoli Chakraborty, Babina Hospital's dietician Mayengbam Nikita, Babina Hospital's clinical psychologist Maibam Renupama attended the event as resource persons.
Children showcased various performances.
Book and toy stalls were opened at the venue.
