"As modem lifestyles become increasingly sedentary and dietary habits shift, there's a rising concern over joint degeneration and weakened bones even among younger individuals", he added.
He asserted that nearly 1 in 5 Indians suffers from some form of musculoskeletal disorders such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, ligament and meniscus injuries, frozen shoulder, low back pain, and slipped discs.
"Joint treatment has seen significant advancements in recent years, allowing individuals to achieve substantial recovery through a combination of approaches.
These approaches include medication, physical therapy, and sometimes surgery, tailored to the specific condition and its severity", said Dr Ibomcha.
Furthermore, Dr Ibomcha emphasized the need to raise awareness about musculoskeletal and joint disorders, stating that these conditions are incredibly common, significantly impact quality of life, and are often preventable or manageable with early intervention.
