Imphal, August 03: Following the suspension of six MR jawans and the institution of a departmental inquiry led by IGP Ananth Prakash, the Mao Students' Union has today informed that the suspension of economic blockade along NH-39 has been, extended for another week, till August 9 .

In a statement the student body said that as per the assurance of the Govt and the order thereby issued, the recommendation of IG will be submitted within a one month period and added that the inquiry committee would keep the Memei Hoho updated on the progress every week.

If the Govt rescind on its assurance then the agitation will resume any time, it warned.
