Aid pours in for flood-affected people

Responding promptly to the urgent need for voluntary service and solidarity with the suffering people in the wake of the large scale destruction caused by widespread floods, particularly in Imphal East district, CCian Group, an alumni association of CC Higher Secondary School (1993-1997 batch) has donated relief materials to several relief camps and flood affected people.
A team of the CCian Group led by social activist and former general secretary of CC Higher Secondary School Students' Union H Ashirjit Luwang (Boicha) visited several relief camps and donated relief materials on June 2, 2025 .
The team donated relief materials at YOSC Khurai Konsam Leikai, NYC Khurai Sajor Leikai, Khurai Laishram Leikai, Tharoijam Leirak community hall, IAS Club Laihiden Khurai and Khurai Konsam Leikai (near Heikrumakhong) .
The relief materials were distributed out of voluntary donations made by members of the CCian group.
Moreover, Students for Seva volunteers, in collaboration with the Manipur Mountaineering & Trekking Association (MMTA), have also stepped forward to help affected families by providing essential grocery and relief items.
Understanding the urgent need for support, the youth volunteers of Students for Seva and MMTA carried out a relief distribution drive, reaching out to the worst-hit areas and ensuring that food and essential supplies were delivered directly to the affected households.
As per a release issued by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Manipur, the joint effort highlighted the spirit of service, unity, and humanity, as young volunteers came together to support their fellow citizens during a difficult time.
The relief work was led by RK Yaikhomba, national executive council member (NEC) ABVP, Rajesh Laishram ABVP state joint secretary, K Mukta State Students for Seva (SFS) in-charge, M Swamidas Maimom State SFS convenor and other karyakarta Similarly, the Seva Bharti Manipur has also reached out to the flood-affected people who are taking shelter at various relief camps in Imphal East district.
Essential items including rice, dal, edible oil, potato, salt, etc were provided to the people camping in relief camps to motivate & encourage them during this difficult time.
Likewise, Peace & Integrity Committee Kyamgei (PICK) and All Kyamgei Nupi Chaokhat Thourang Lup also distributed essential items to the people taking shelter at Bashikhong Panthoibi Flood Relief Camp and the Flood Relief Camp operated by the Bashikhong Kongba Irong Development Committee.
The Jamlat Ulama Bishnupur, Anjuman Islah E-Muashara Kwakta and All Kwakta Youth Voluntary Organisation (AKYVO) in collaboration with Kwakta Municipal Council also distributed relief materials to the flood-affected people of Keirang Khomidok, Khabeisoi, Lairikyengbam Leikai, Sangakpham and Keirao.
