Awareness programme on "Viksit Bharat-VB-G RAM G" held

A two-day awareness programme on "Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G)" was kicked off at the training hall of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Thoubal today for the benefit of farmers.
The awareness programme focused on the transition of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) to VB-G RAM G Act was attended by Dr Kh Premlata Devi, Senior Scientist and Head In-Charge, KVK Thoubal; N Ramananda, 6-Khangabok Zilla Parishad Member and farmers L Gojen from Khangabok and K Inaobi from Serou as presidium members.
A large number of farmers from Thoubal and Kakching district attended the awareness programme.
Speaking at the inaugural event, Dr Kh Premlata said that the VB-G RAM G Act guarantees 125 days of wage employment per rural household in each financial year.
Stating that the Act is designed to support farmers, she asserted that VB-G RAM G Act will offer significant contributions to the India's vision of becoming a developed Nation by 2047 with ample employment opportunities and development for villages.
During the two-day awareness programme, the KVK Thoubal team will travel to different villages to spread awareness about and in-depth knowledge about the Act to the farmers under KVK Thoubal, she maintained.
