Kakching, August 02 2025: In continuation of their activities to sustain a greener Manipur, BeeNet Manipur (Biodiversity Ecology and Environment Network) has inaugurated a BeeNet Block at Angaan Ching in Kakching district as a destination for nature and biodiversity lovers.

According to a press release, the inaugural programme included the plantation of rare tree species.

It was attended by Dr T Brajakumar, Director of Environment and Climate Change; Professor N Mohilal Meitei, Department of Zoology, Manipur University and vice president of BeeNet Manipur; Kshetrimayum Surjit, secretary, ADAM Kakching; Sougrakpam Bhubol, secretary, BeeNet Manipur; Professor Th David, former Registrar (i/c), NIT Manipur; Dr H Shukhdeva Sharma, Director, College Development Council (CDC), Manipur University and other scholars, environmentalists and students.

In the press release, BeeNet Manipur asserted that Manipur is also facing existing challenges such as global warming, ozone layer depletion, climate change and plastic pollution etc.

In order to tackle such challenges, it is necessary to inculcate individual minds and habits for greening the available surroundings irrespective of their location in the highlands or lowlands.
