Imphal, December 01 2025:
The Federation of All Tribal Youth Club Manipur (FATYCM) has submitted a representation to Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, urging him to take immediate steps to begin the construction of Ranima Gaidinliu Freedom Fighter Museum at Longkao (Nungkao) village in Tamenglong district.
In the memorandum, FATYCM expressed strong resentment over the undue delay in the construction of the Ranima Gaidinliu Freedom Fighter Museum at Longkao village.
FATYCM recalled that the foundation stone of the said museum was laid by none other than the Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the year 2021, at the birthplace of the legendary freedom fighter Ranima Gaidinliu.
It also pointed out that the Government of India had already released the required funds for the project a few years back.
"Despite these facts, the construction work has not yet commenced, which is deeply unfortunate and unacceptable.
The delay is being viewed as not only disrespectful to the memory of Ranima Gaidinliu, a towering national icon who dedicated her life to India's freedom struggle, but also as an insult to her community and the sentiments of the Zeliangrong and other tribal people", it added.
Denouncing the neglect and delay in implementing the historic project, FATYCM fervently appealed to the Governor for immediate intervention so that construction of the museum begins without further delay.
Furthermore, FATYCM highlighted that the completion of the Ranima Gaidinliu Freedom Fighter Museum at Longkao is of utmost importance for honouring the sacrifices of the great freedom fighter, preserving her legacy, and upholding the pride of the tribal communities of Manipur and the Northeast.
