Two alleged AT members held with arms

Imphal, September 01 2025:
State police arrested two alleged members of the Arambai Tengol (AT) with arms and ammunition from Imphal West district yesterday.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Laishram Tondomba Singh (27) of Ward No 2 Wangjing Lamding Bazar, Thoubal and Tourangbam Amarjit Meitei (20) alias Yaima of Lamding Mamang Leikai, Thoubal.
They were apprehended in possession of illegal arms for the purpose of trafficking and for committing prejudicial activities, said Manipur Police Control Room in a statement.
The items seized from the possession of the two included seven HK33 Rifles, two M4A1 Carbines, two Glock .45 Auto Pistols along with four magazines, twentyeight empty magazines of HK33 Rifle, eight empty magazines of M4A1 Carbine gun, hundred .45 ammunition in four cases, two bags, four mobile handsets, Rs 4,430 cash, two Aadhaar cards and one four wheeler vehicle.
The two have been remanded to 9 days police custody.
In a different operation yesterday, security forces recovered arms and ammunition from Kanto Sabal area under Sekmai police station, Imphal West.
The items recovered included three grenades, fifty-three live rounds of different calibres, one 7.62mm LMG Magazine, one bullet proof plate, one rifle bayonet, one ammunition box, a material suspected to be IED, one magazine pouch, one 5.56mm INSAS magazine, two Baofeng handsets, two Baofeng set chargers, one mobile phone and a bag and other military gears including caps and a pair of jungle shoes.
