Workshop conducted

A 1-day workshop on "Drug Use Response and Public Health Outcomes in Manipur- A Retrospective" was conducted today at Hotel Imolesh, Imphal.
The workshop was organised by Association of Drug User Manipur (ADUM) as part of its month-long campaign, "Support.
Don't Punish".
It was attended by Department of Social Welfare, Director, Ng Uttam; JNIMS, Department of Psychiatry, Head, Prof K Shantibala; Manipur University, Department of Anthropology, Prof MC Arun; KRIPA Society, president, Hijam Dinesh and ADUM, senior member, RK Tiken as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Ng Uttam said that Manipur is the first State in the country to have implemented a drug policy focused on demand reduction, supply reduction and harm reduction.
He also elaborated on the need for organising such workshops in schools & colleges to make the youths aware about the harmful effects of drug & substance abuse.
