MHGEWA commemorates "Enhancement of Pay Day"

Imphal, February 01 2025: The Manipur Home Guard Employees Welfare Association (MHGEWA) and Welfare Scheme Committee organised a "Remembrance of Enhancement of Pay Day" programme at GM Hall, Imphal today.

The event was graced by MHGEWA president Y Mangi, vice presidents S Prabhabati and P Chandrakumar.

During the event, financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh each under the Home Guard.

Welfare Scheme was disbursed to 13 retired Home guard personnel, including families of deceased members.

Speaking on the occasion, Y Mangi lamented the failure of the State Government to implement the directives of the High Court of Manipur for the welfare of Home Guard personnel in the State.

Highlighting that home guards have been assigned myriad of duties in assisting police and maintaining law & order, he appealed to the Government and authorities concerned to acknowledge the contributions of home guards and fulfil the long standing demands of the association including the inclusion in Manipur Government Employee List and Seniority Promotion Guidelines.

Y Mangi also cautioned that if the Government fails to take action on the directive of the High Court of Manipur within this month, Home Guard personnel will be compelled to launch strong agitation.
