The State of Manipur joined the rest of the nation in celebrating Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day), commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, the Iron Man of India whose unparalleled efforts unified the country after independence.
The day's observance aimed to promote national integration, unity and security among citizens, with programmes held across all districts.
Various departments, educational institutions, and security forces organised events to reaffirm the values of "Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat" .
JIRIBAM
The District Administration Jiribam observed National Unity Day on Friday at the Conference Hall of the DC Office in Jiribam.
Deputy Commissioner Jiribam, Krishna Kumar, led the pledge-taking ceremony, emphasizing the importance of national integration and self-reliance in achieving the vision of a developed India by 2047.He paid tribute to Sardar Patel's dedication to nationbuilding and urged government employees to remain neutral and committed to their duties.
The DC advised officials to be lifelong learners, learn from each other, and work as a team.
He also encouraged government employees to stay informed about important occasions and events.
PHERZAWL
The District Administration of Pherzawl today commemorated National Unity Day with a series of events at police stations across the district At the District Police Headquarters, SP Pherzawl T Lalboi Haokip presided over the official observance, administering the Unity Pledge to police officers and personnel.
The pledge reinforced the commitment to national integration and paid tribute to Patel's pivotal role in shaping a unified India.
The celebrations also featured Unity Runs organised by Thanlon and Parbung police stations.
Around 70 participants took part in the Thanlon event, where Village Chief Th Dongchinpau awarded prizes to the winners.
In Parbung, approximately 40 runners participated in the Unity Run with winners receiving honors on the spot.
BISHNUPUR
As part of the observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day), Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur, Pooja Elangbam, today flagged off the "Run for Unity" from the Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur.
It was organised by District Administration, Bishnupur, in coordination with the District Youth Affairs and Sports Office (DYASO), Bishnupur.
The unity run witnessed active participation from athletes, youth, and officials of the District Administration including ADM Toijam Opendro, AC to DC Sh Gunamani, and SDO/BDO Bishnupur Loitongbam Rishikanta, along with other officers and staff.
Later, Pooja Elangbam administered the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat Complex, reaffirming the commitment of all attendees to uphold the spirit of unity and integrity of the nation.
SENAPATI
The Senapati District Police joined the rest of the nation in celebrating Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) with a series of activities aimed at reaffirming the commitment to national unity, integrity, and harmony.
The day witnessed enthusiastic participation from police officers, CAPF personnel, students, and citizens across the district.
The unity run, which began from Traffic Point, Senapati, to Mt Everest College Junction, extended across local routes in Maram, Mao, Tadubi, Purul.
Tungjoy, and Phaibung, spreading the message of "Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat".
All officers and personnel across DHQ, Reserve Lines, and Police Stations took the Rashtriya Ekta Pledge, vowing to uphold the values of national integrity, security, and solidarity.
As part of the Ekta Dialogue, interactive sessions were held at DHQ Senapati.
Senapati Police Station, Maram Police Station, Mao Police Station, and Phaibung Police Station, involving local organizations, CAPFs, and community members to discuss strategies for strengthening communal harmony.
In addition, cleanliness drives and tree plantation programmes were conducted at Reserve Lines, Purul Police Station, and Phaibung Police Station, where over 50 trees were planted under the Ekta Seva and Tree Plantation initiative.
A drawing competition titled "Unity Through Art" was also organized by the Women Police Station, Senapati, with enthusiastic participation from school students.
Prizes were awarded to the best entries celebrating the spirit of unity in diversity.
CHURACHANDPUR
ADC Churachandpur, Lalrobul Fimate, today flagged off "Run for Unity-Run for India", from Public Ground, Hiangtam Lamka, Churachandpur, marking the observation of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day).
The Run aimed to promote the spirit of unity and integrity among citizens.
Prior to the flagging off the Run, SDO, Churachandpur, Vidyamari Sridhar, administered the unity pledge to a diverse group of participants including personnel from Police, CRPF, Central Paramilitary forces, District Level Officers(DLOs), and students from various school under ZEO, Churachandpur.
The event concluded at Mini Secretariat, Tuibong, Churachandpur.
CHANDEL
The District Administration, Chandel, today joined the nation in observing "Rashtriya Ekta Diwas" (National Unity Day) at the DC Conference Hall, Chandel, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India and a key architect of national integration.
Today's programme was graced by Md Firoj, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chandel, as the chief guest.
Officials and staff from various district departments participated in the observance, reaffirming their commitment to the spirit of unity and integrity.
In his address, Md Firoj, ADC Chandel, highlighted the remarkable contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in unifying more than 500 princely states into the Indian Union during the postIndependence period.
He emphasized that Sardar Patel's visionary leadership, firmness, and dedication laid the foundation for a strong and united India.
The event also featured the administration of the "Rashtriya Ekta Pledge", reaffirming collective commitment to preserve the nation's unity and security.
THOUBAL
In Thoubal, a Unity Run was organised by the Thoubal Police, with participation from various police and security personnel of the district.
The run was flagged off by SP of Thoubal, Manoj Prabhakar from Thoubal and culminated at Khongjom War Memorial Complex.
As part of the programme, the gathering led by SP Thoubal, Manoj Prabhakar administered the unity pledge, reaffirming commitment to uphold the spirit of unity and integrity of the nation.
The event concluded with a tree plantation drive at the surrounding area of Khongjom War Memorial Complex.
UKHRUL
The people of Ukhrul district also joined the celebration by organising a Unity Rally, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel.
The rally was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner, Ukhrul, Asish Das, from UBC UBC Jubilee Hall Kamphasom, and culminated at the Mini Secretariat Office Hamleikhong, Ukhrul.
As part of the programme, the DC also distributed sports items to the youth clubs of Sirarakhong, Tushen Chanhong, TM Kasom, Chingjaroi, Shingcha, Thyso, Old Eahong and NRSU.
The celebration featured cultural performances by NSS Ukhrul, with Wungtang Zimik, convenor Aatmanirbhar Bharat administering the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Swadeshi pledge.
KANGPOKPI
In a remarkable display of solidarity and national pride, the 150th Birth Anniversary of India's first Deputy Prime Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, was celebrated with a spirited Unity Run marking Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) in Kangpokpi District Headquarters.
The event was jointly organized by 112 BN CRPF, KPI Police, KPI District Hospital, and Elite Higher Secondary School, Kangpokpi, Sadar Hills.
The Unity Run commenced from the SP Office, Kangpokpi, proceeded towards the KPI Police Station, and culminated back at the starting point, symbolizing the unbroken circle of national integrity and strength.
More than 200 participants - including officers and jawans of 112 BN CRPF led by Commandant Ranjan Kumar Baruah and 2IC Shri Mukesh Taterway, the Kangpokpi Police team led by SP Abhinav, and supported by SDPO and OC Kangpokpi Police Station, alongside the District Hospital team headed by CMO Dr Paokai Kipgen, and students and teachers of Elite Higher Secondary School - joined the run with remarkable zeal and unity.
Before the run, all participants took the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to preserve and strengthen the fabric of national integration, peace, and harmony.
Adding to the day's significance, a cleanliness drive and Unity plantation drive were also conducted within Kangpokpi District Headquarters, reinforcing the message of collective responsibility toward building a clean, green, and united India.
ASSAM RIFLES
Across Chandel, Kakching, Churachandpur and Tengnoupal districts, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was commemorated with a series of spirited events celebrating the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and the ideals of national integration.
Assam Rifles, in collaboration with local administrations, police units and village communities, led the initiatives with strong public participation.
In Sagnaikot, a "Run for Unity" was organised from Donjang to Sagnaikot Police Station in coordination with Manipur Police.
The event doubled as a run-up to the Chavang Kut Festival, drawing villagers, police personnel and Assam Rifles troops in a collective stride for unity.
A similar run in Churachandpur, jointly held with the District Administration, saw 35 personnel join local residents, reinforcing community bonds.
In Chandel district, Phaisangjang and Zoldam hosted Drawing and Painting competitions for school children, encouraging creative expressions of unity.
A Run for Unity at Phaisangjang brought together youth and troops in a shared commitment to peace and discipline.
At Chakpikarong, Assam Rifles and Chakpikarong youth conducted a high-energy run featuring endurance drills and team-building exercises, fostering leadership and confidence among village youth.
At ARPS Kakching, students from Nursery to Class X participated in cultural dances, patriotic songs and themed art activities.
Dressed in traditional attire, they showcased India's diversity and the strength of shared values.
Across all locations, over 200 Assam Rifles personnel joined hundreds of civilians in events that blended physical fitness, cultural pride and civic spirit.
CRPF
In a remarkable display of national spirit and togetherness, the 32 Bn CRPF and NHPC Loktak Project organised "Run for Unity", to commemorate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas.
The event was flagged off by Arun Kumar Meena, Commandant of 32 Bn CRPF and Gursharan Sigh, HOP Loktak Project.
The run aims to promote the message of unity, peace, and strength through collective participation.
The event commenced at NHPC Loktak Project Complex and concluded at Hq 32 Bn CRPF, with personnel of 32 Bn CRPF, NHPC employees, home guards and members of general public joined the run with a shared commitment to uphold nation's unity and integrity.
