Kakching, April 30 2025:
The public of Kakching district has resolved to take part in the "Manipur People's Convention" to be heidon May 3, organised to mark completion of 2 years of the Manipur conflict.
This decision was taken during a public meeting held at Yumbi Macha High School Ground, Kakching organised by the All Kakching Clubs Coordinating Committee in collaboration with COCOMI.
The meeting was attended by Khuraijam Athouba, convenor of COCOMI, YK Dhiren, convenor Mobilization COCOMI, Ksh Dharmadas, president of All Kakching Clubs Coordinating Committee, Ksh Ibobi, vice-president of All Kakching Clubs Coordinating Committee, Mayanglambam Mubi Devi, advisor Kakching Keithel Apunba Ima Lup.
Khuraijam Athoubam, during the meeting, criticized the Indian Government for being a mute spectator when armed Kuki militants waged a war against the innocent Meitei community, killing men, women and children, including an 8-month-old infant.
However, when 26 persons were killed in Jammu Kashmir, the Prime Minister hurriedly rushed back from Saudi Arabia and took action immediately, said Athouba.
"This disparity in response clearly shows that the Government of India fully supports the Kuki narco-terrorists, while it treats indigenous Meiteis as sub-class citizens," Athouba asserted.
Urging the public to take part in the convention, Athouba said that the people must send a clear message to the Government of India that they are against any "suppression" during the convention to be held on May 3 .
