Road Safety Month concludes

The 37th National Road Safety Month 2026, observed from January 1 to January 31, 2026, concluded yesterday with a valedictory programme held at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner's Office, Jiribam.
The programme was jointly organised by the District Administration, Jiribam, and the District Transport Office (DTO).
DC Krishna Kumar, IAS, expressed gratitude to the public and all officials concerned for their cooperation and support, which contributed to the successful observance of the month-long Road Safety Month programme.
He stated that during the observance, various road safety awareness activities were conducted across the district, including distribution of pamphlets, stickers and other awareness materials.
District-level competitions such as painting and debate competitions were also organised to promote road safety awareness among students and the general public.
As part of the programme, a bike rally was also held with participation from the district police, CRPF personnel, and students from colleges and schools.
The valedictory function was attended by Additional DC Jiribam, Th Manoranjan Singh; SDC Jiribam S Sitaranjit Singh; DTO Jiribam M Vikash; along with officials from different departments.
