15 days workshop on Nata Sankirtana kicks off in Tripura

Thoubal, December 31 2024: To promote and preserve Nata Sankirtana in Tripura, the Manipuri Literary and Cultural Forum, Tripura under the aegis of Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, Imphal and Manipur State Kala Akademi organized a 15 days workshop on "Manipuri Nata Sankirtana" at Tarou Meitei Leikai Mandop in Tripura.

The 15 days workshop was inaugurated today by JN Manipur Dance Academy Guru Kshetrimayum Kriti Singh.

The inaugural day of the workshop was also attended by RK Tarunjit, advisor of Manipuri Literary & Cultural Forum Tripura, Manipur Dance Academy Guru Nongmaithem Upendro Singh and Irengbam Gourachand as presidium members.

Forum secretary, Khoisnam Mangol in his welcome address extended gratitude to Bilash Pukhrambam, director of Manipur Dance Academy and Sunanda Thokchom, secretary of State Kala Akademi for sending the expert and gurus to participate in the workshop organised in Tripura to promote and preserve Nata Sankirtan in the region.

The workshop was attended by 20 youths hailing from different parts of Tripura.

The closing ceremony of the workshop will be held on January 13 with various prominent figures from Manipur and State Kala Akademi participating in the event.

Meanwhile, similar workshops will also be held at Jaribon, Bontarapur and Cachar starting from tomorrow organised by the JN Manipur Dance Academy.
