Imphal, September 29 2026: Security forces arrested two persons and recovered drugs worth lakhs of rupee in separate operations yesterday.

The arrested persons have been identified as Md Ayub Khan (24) and Md Tomba (30), both residents of Kwakta, Bishnupur district.

They were arrested by a joint team of Imphal East police, other security forces and Youth Against Drugs and Alcohol Manipur (YA- DAM) during a drive at Nongmeibung under Po-rompat PS.

The joint team seized 12 soap cases containing heroin No 4 weighing 157 grams (net) and one Maruti Suzuki vehicle from their possession.

In another operation yesterday, Porompat police found heroin powder weighing 327 grams (net) in an abandoned A-Star car at Kshetrigao Sabal Leikai.

12 soap cases containing 327 grams (net) were found kept on the rear seat of the vehicle, said the police.

The seizures came days after Bishnupur police arrested one drug peddler and seized 60 grams of heroin powder on September 25 .

The drug peddler arrested was identified as Munna Chesam (27) of Kwakta Ward No 8 .

He was arrested from Nachou Panthong Makha Leikai.

Along with five soap cases of heroin weighing 60 grams, police also seized one Maestro scooter and one TVS Jupiter scooter and a mobile phone from his possession.
