Imphal, October 28 2008:
Principal of Bhaktivedanta Institute Mission Higher Secondary School K Sumati has clarified that the school has no connection with the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON).
Addressing a press conference at Keishamthong here today, Sumati said that the school is not being run by ISKCON but by a governing body of its own and it is affiliated to CBSE.
She said that the recent remarks made by temple president of ISKCON Ajit Das through media that could tarnish the image of the school was very unfortunate.
Since its establishment in 1982, no incident have ever occurred in the school which has over 500 students that could lead to compromising the reputation the school and its students.
So the allegation of Ajit Das that the school authority had tried to cover up the incident of molestation of a girl student by another boy student is surprising, Sumati said.
