World Hepatitis Day observed

As observed across the globe, the State too joined in observing World Hepatitis Day to raise awareness among the public about the disease and to strive for a Hepatitis free future.
Shija Hospitals
Shija Hospitals and Research Institute (SHRI), in collaboration with Natco Pharma Ltd and CORE Diagnostics, observed World Hepatitis Day by organizing a free Hepatitis B and C screening camp at Shija Hospitals, Langol and Shija Urban OPD, Keishampat today.
A total of 38 patients were screened during die camp, said a press release by Shija Hospitals.
Shija Hospitals also organized a one-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on "Viral Hepatitis" at the Auditorium of SHRI.
Clinical staff, including consultant physicians, DNB trainees, and nursing staff, attended the event.
During the CME program, Dr G Narendradeva Sharma, DNB (General Medicine), SHRI, deliberated on prognosis and the preventive measures as well as treatment options available for viral hepatitis.
These events aim to bring hepatitis care closer to the masses and raise awareness among people about Hepatitis B and C, its consequences, and ways to prevent the spread of hepatitis, added the release.
CoNE
The weeklong campaign held as part of World Hepatitis Day 2022 observation, to generate demand for testing and treatment of HBV and HCV in the State concluded with a motorcycle rally at Palace Compound today.
The weeklong campaign on World Hepatitis Day was organised by Community Network for Empowerment (CoNE) in collaboration with Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA); BABINA Diagnostics and Two Stroke Motor Cycle Club, Imphal West and CoNE affiliated community based organisations located in different parts of the State and supported by Gilead Sciences, said a press release by CoNE.
The motorcycle rally was flagged off from Palace Gate, by Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) Medical Superintendent, Dr Kh Lokeshwar and BABINA Diagnostics Managing Director, Dr Th Dhabali.
Altogether 50 bikers took part in the motor cycle rally.
During the weeklong campaign, a series of activities was conducted across the State in the form of poster and leaflet campaigns, CMHT Scheme and e-SHRAM enrolment camp, Hepatitis B screening and vaccination camps and Radio and TV talk shows, added the release.
