Symposium on World Wetlands Day held

In connection with World Wetlands Day, 2025, a College Level Symposium on the theme "Protecting Wetlands for our Common Future" was held today at the Seminar Hall of Waikhom Mani Girl's College, Thoubal.
The symposium was organised jointly by Waikhom Mani Girl's College, Thoubal, Deapartment of Botany, Department of Geography and IQAC under the aegis of Directorate of Environment and Climate Change, Government of Manipur.
The programme was attended by Waikhom Mani Girl's College, Principal, Prof H Manoranjan Sharma, Thoubal College, HoD Geography, Prof Kh Jugindro Singh, Lilong Haoreibi College, HoD Botany, Dr O Noyon Singh and Thoubal College, Assistant Prof of Environment Sc, Dr Daisy Angom as presidium members.
Speaking at the gathering, Principal Prof H Manoranjan Sharma said that the symposium was organised in connection with the World Wetlands Day to be held on February 2.Those selected students from today's competition will be participating in the State Level Symposium competition organised by the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change, Govt of Manipur, said Prof Manoranjan.
He continued that it is very essential for us to be aware of the importance of Wetlands.
