Thadou-Kuki AEC textbook released for FYUGP 2025 under NEP 2020

Kangpokpi, December 27 2025:
A significant milestone in the promotion and institutionalisation of Thadou-Kuki language education was marked with the formal release of "Pao Hetgilna le Kijahmatna" (Knowledge of Language and Communication) at Thadou Kuki Literature Society (TKLS) Head Office, located at Elite Higher Secondary School, Kangpokpi district.
It is the prescribed Ability Enhancement Course-I (AEC-I) textbook for BA/BSc/BCom 1st semester students under the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) 2025 in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) .
The book has been edited by noted academic and language scholar Dr Ngamkhohao Haokip and released by Dr Seikhohao Kipgen, Principal of Presidency College, Motbung.
The author is a PhD, specialising in socio-political studies of the tribals.
Besides being the Principal cum Administrator of Eklavya Model Residential School, Gamnom Saparmeina, under National Education Society for Tribal Students, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, he is also the chairman of Thadou-Kuki Literature Society.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Seikhohao Kipgen, who formally released the book, described the publication as a landmark academic contribution that strengthens indigenous language education within the National higher education framework.
The book was dedicated by Rev Ngamneo Haokip, Pastor of Kuki Baptist Church (KBC).
Designed specifically for undergraduate learners, "Pao Hetgilna le Kijahmatna" focuses on foundational language skills, effective communication, and academic competence, making it a vital resource for 1st semester students across disciplines.
The textbook aligns seamlessly with the multidisciplinary and competency-based vision of the FYUGP under NEP 2020.The release ceremony was attended by academicians, educators, church leaders, TKLS members
and well-wishers.
