Senapati District Health Society conducts 'Kayakalp Assessment'

The Senapati District Health society conducted the "Kayakalp Assessment" at Paomata PHC and Laii PHC today.
The official team led by Dr.Sumpi Percy, Director/CMO of Senapati District Health Society along with Mrs RK Elizabeth, District Program Manager (National Health Mission) evaluates the performance of public health facilities at Paomata PHC and Laii PHC.
The assessment covers several criteria, including facility upkeep, sanitation, waste management, infection control, support services, and hygiene promotion.
The Director (DHS) urged the medical staff to promote cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control practices in public health facilities and encouraged facilities to continuously assess and review their performance.
Further, the District Program Manager (NHM) highlighted the importance of PHCs in India.
It may be noted that, the PHCs are established under the National Health Mission (NHM) to serve a population of 30,000 in rural areas and 20,000 in hilly, tribal, and desert areas.
PHCs are the first point of contact between a village community and a medical officer.
The team was impressed by the maintaining standard of the PHCs .
