"Defending freedom, pursuing peace": ZUF marks 15th anniversary

Imphal, February 25 2025: The Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF)observed its 15th Raising Day celebration today at the Mount Ararat HQs on the theme: Defending Freedom, Pursuing Peace.

In a statement, ZUF conveys its message of hope and appeal to the people to continue its support and cooperation to the one and only political agenda now placed at the Table of talk for final settlement with the GOI.

Mr Felix Kamei Home Secretary, in his speech in connection with the Raising Day celebration urged the Zeliangrong kindred people to be hopeful and assured that the long cherished dream of the people will be realized with the ongoing political talk with the GOI .

In a statement, Jenchui Kamei, Chairman, Zeliangrong United Front conveyed gratitude to all comrades and cadres who stand for the cause of Zeliangrong kindred on the occasion of 15th Raising Day celebration.

"I pay my greatest homage and salute to all brave souls who have gone ahead and rested beneath the cold earth with their hope that their sacrifices would secure freedom for our people in our homeland," stated Jenchui.

"15 years ago, on this day we stood up for our dear cause, and fought the good fight of faith that someday soon we shall overcome and rejoice to see the dawn of freedom in our land.

With much patience and tolerance, we have resurfaced the cause of Zeliangrong People Convention and drew the issues to the Talk parley with the Govt of India and tabled for final settlement that is acceptable and pragmatic in contemporary society and politics.

The fifth Round of talk had been held with the GOI in the Name of Zeliangrong Statehood Working Committee, and the progress has been gaining ground close to final touch, stated ZUF chairman.

Let us continue to hope on and hope that the day of victory will be long delayed.

We have already travelled and covered the long journey of struggle.
