Imphal, September 24 2026: The Dental College of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, has won the first prize in the World Oral Health Celebration Contest 2026 at the 47th National Conference of the Indian Society of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry (ISPPD 2026), held from September 21 to 23 at The Leela Ambience Hotel & Convention Centre, New Delhi.

In a press statement issued by its media cell, RIMS said that the prestigious award was received by Dr Wairokpam Bhoomika Devi, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry, on behalf of Dental College, RIMS .

She stated that the achievement was made possible through the unwavering support and encouragement of RIMS Director Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Medical Superintendent Prof Nepram Sanjib Singh and Principal, Dental College of Prof.B Praveen Reddy.

She also acknowledged the commitment and tireless efforts of the faculty, students and staff whose collective contribution brought this recognition to the Institute and Manipur.

Another significant highlight was the ISPPD NEST (NEST (Nurture, Educate, Serve and Treat) a pediatric dentist initiative) programme, which provides a platform for paediatric dentists from the North East States to collaborate, share experiences and work collectively towards improving paediatric oral healthcare in the region, it said.
