Imphal, December 23 2012: The video footage recorded by Dwijamani during his last few minutes, clearly showed how he was shot dead while performing his duties as a journalist.

Soon after he was hit by bullet, Dwijamani reportedly gave his video camera to one of the protestors, who was later on taken into custody by a team of Lamphel Police led by OC Ingocha along with the video camera.

The camera was again handed over to the agitated journalists by the police.

However, the cassette which was supposed to be in the camera was found missing.

To get hold of the missing cassette, a team of journalists including editors of various newspapers went to Lamphel Police Station along with SP in-charge Herojit.

The cassette was found to be a part of the seizure memo, and it was subsequently handed over to the journalists' team.

However, when the content of the cassette was shown through television at Manipur Press Club, the footage turned out to be a wedding ceremony, thus indicating the original cassette has been replaced by a fake one.

Later it was learnt that original cassette was being kept in safe hand of someone.

Accordingly, a team of journalists went swiftly and brought back the original cassette. The video footage showed bandh supporters blocking the road along the Cheiraoching at Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai.

After a while, a numberless Tata 407 was seen coming escorted by a white police Gypsy.

The bandh supporters began pelting stones at the vehicle and the security personnel in the Gypsy were seen fleeing leaving the Tata 407 behind.

As the stone pelting continues, a number of tribal women were seen jumping down from the rear and running away.

The video footage clearly showed that none of the protester tried to harm the tribal women and it was heard among the protestors shouting "don't hurt the innocent women".

After letting all the tribal women passed away freely, the bandh supporters started destroying and torching the Tata 407 using fuel from the vehicle and the clothes left behind by the fleeing tribal women.

Even at that point of time the bandh supporters were seen pelting stones towards the police personnel who were standing some distance from away the burning vehicle.

Then, the police personnel started firing mock bombs, tear gas canisters and rubber bullets, and it was followed by real bullets in the air.

However, among the police personnel one of them who was seen holding an SLR and pointing his rifle directly towards the camera.
