Rhythms of Manipur to perform in Vietnam

A 10-member troupe of the international acclaimed music group, Rhythms of Manipur will participate in the upcoming 3rd Festival of India, "Namaste Vietnam" scheduled to be held at three different places of Ho Chi Minh city from August 25 to 27, 2024 .
The Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh, Dr Madan Mohan Sethi extended an invitation to Rhythms of Manipur to perform during the Festival organised by the Indian Consulate to commemorate the 52nd anniversary of Vietnam-India diplomatic relations through activities in various fields.
The group will showcase music numbers including the national award winning fusion music composition "Dancing Drummers" and the State song "Sana Leibak Manipur" for three days during the festival.
The inaugural event of the festival will be held at Rex Hotel Saigon at 5:30 pm in which Rhythms of Manipur will present twenty minutes of music composition.
Rajkumar Sanatomba Singh, founder artiste and secretary of the group will lead the troupe.
Notably, the Ho Chi Minh tour is the eighth international tour of Rhythms of Manipur.
Earlier they successfully toured Hong Kong and Singapore in 2013, Port of Spain in 2017, Laos in 2017, Surin, Thailand in 2018, Bangkok in 2022 and Kyoto, Japan in 2022.Besides the successful international tours, the group had won two Doordarshan National Awards through its productions namely Journey and Dancing Drummers.
The group consisting of five male and five female artistes will leave Imphal for Ho Chi Minh on August 23 .
