Many across Thoubal, Kakching condemn Gwaltabi incident

Aggrieved by the Central forces action of forcibly removal of the the word "Manipur" from a State Transport bus at Gwaltabi on May 20, the Meira Paibis across Thoubal and Kakching staged a sit-in protest today at various locations demanding accountability and calling for Governor's resignation.
In Thoubal district, a sit-in protest was held today at Waithou organised by the Waithou Apunba Meira Paibi Lup condemning the Gwaltabi incident where Mahar Regiment personnel forced journalists to conceal "Manipur" word displayed on a State transport bus.
Speaking at the sideline of the protest, Waithou Meira Paibi Lup advisor.
Samadram Chaobi said that the unfortunate incident that happened on May 20 at Gwaltabi is condemned at the strongest term by the Waithou Meira Paibi Lup.
Demanding befitting action against the security personnel involved in the incident, Chaobi stated that the Governor of Manipur, Chief Secretary, DGP and Security Advisor must be held accountable for the incident.
The protester also raised slogans calling for the Governor's resignation if failed to take action against those involved in the Gwaltabi incident.
Similar protest was also held at Nongpok Sekmai Shikhong Bazar organised by the Meira Paibi Lup of 14 villages of Chingnung area condemning the Gwaltabi incident.
During the protest, the protesters demanded immediate resignation of the Governor of Manipur and Security Advisor.
The Leishangthem Apunba Lup (LAL) also staged a sit-in protest today at Leishangthem Bazar denouncing the central forces action against a group of journalists to forcibly remove the word "Manipur" from a State Transport bus who were travelling to attend Shirui Lily Festival.
Meanwhile, SEDO Hiyanglam, AKUCO Kakching Khunou, ESUCO Korsantabi, Tangjeng Khunou and LATUCO Lamjao, the unit organisations of Kakching District United Club's Organisation staged protest demonstration at several locations against the security forces action of forcibly removal of "Manipur" from a State Transport bus.
During the protest demonstration, slogans like, "We condemn security forces action at Gwaltabi", "We condemn India's Policy to Obliterate Manipur", etc were raised by the protesters.
