A coalition of different organi- zations, Apunba Manipur gi Emasing (United Mothers of Manipur), has issued an ultimatum to the BJP State unit president A Sharda Devi to help install a new Government in the State within three days .
The demand was raised during a public convention held at Hao Ground at Singjamei Chingamathak today.
At least eight resolutions were adopted during the convention and the same have been submitted to Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla through his Secretariat and Sharda Devi to address the crisis in Manipur.
The convention urged President Draupadi Murmu to take immediate and effective steps to resettle the internally displaced people (IDPs), reinstate the elected Government and resolve the crisis in Manipur.
The convention also called for implementation of measures to detect and deport the illegal immigrants and to designate all individuals and groups involved in large scale poppy plantations as terrorists and to prosecute them accordingly apart from destroying the poppy plantations.
The convention further resolved that acceptable policies should be implemented to rehabilitate the village volunteers instead of targeting and arresting them.
The convention also adopted a resolution to support authorities in restoring normalcy in Manipur and resettling IDPs.
Speaking to the media at Nityaipat Chuthek after submitting the memorandum to Sharda Devi, one of the representatives of Apunba Manipur gi Emasing said they will launch a massive protest if a new Government is not formed within three days to withdraw President's Rule from the State.
According to her, Sharda Devi assured them that there's no discontent among BJP MLAs and the party is working to reinstate the Government as soon as possible, considering the wishes and the sentiment of the people .
