10th Anniversary of "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" celebrated across State

Bpr/Spt/Ccpr/Kpi/Tbl/Cdl/Ukl, January 22 2025: To mark the 10th anniversary of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign, a flagship initiative aimed at improving the status of girl child and promoting women's education across the country, the 10th anniversary of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme was celebrated across the State today.

BISHNUPUR

Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur, Lourembam Bikram, today launched the celebrations marking the 10th anniversary of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative for Bishnupur district at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat Complex.

The event was organized by the District ICDS Cell, Bishnupur, under the guidance of the District Administration.

During the ceremony, DC Bishnupur administered a pledge for the BBBP initiative, urging all to act individually and collectively to eliminate gender-biased discrimination and sex selection that threatens the birth and survival of girls.

The pledge also emphasized the importance of ensuring girl child education and empowering girls to become equal empowered citizens of the country.

The DC also spoke on the importance of girl child education, the reservation of seats for women at the Panchayat level, and how such grassroots-level initiatives are vital for achieving a developed nation.

The program was also attended by ADM Bishnupur, Chief Medical Officer, Zonal Education Officer, District Social Officer, and concerned district officials.

The DC also flagged off a cycle rally as part of the celebrations, with Anganwadi workers and helpers participating in the event.

A signature campaign was also held as part of the celebrations.

SENAPATI

On celebration of the 10th year of Beti Bachao, Beti Pahao (BBBP) scheme, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Senapati Rang David Kung, MCS flagged off the Launching Rally at Min Secretariat Complex, Senapati today.

During the programme, ADC, Senapati administered the BBBP pledge to the participants followed by flagging off of the rally from Mini Secretariat to I Love Senapati Point.

Signature campaign under District Administration, Senapati was also carried out on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao as part of the programme.

Various slogans relating to BBBP such as 'She dreams big, let her fly high', 'Baby girls are pride, Education is their right', 'Every girl has a dream, Allow her to fulfil it' and many more were displayed on placards during the rally.

The rally was actively participated by ADC Rang David Kung, MCS, AC S Plim Reikhenamai.

CHURACHANDPUR

In commemoration of the momentous milestone of 10 years of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative, District administration, Churachandpur today organised Oath taking ceremony of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao at the Conference hall, Mini Secretariat, Churachandpur.

The oath taking event was administered by Additional Deputy Commissioner Thangboi Gangte and attended by DC, SP, SDOs, District Level Officers and Security officials.

Later, in connection with National Girl Child Day, the participants appended their signature in the signature pledge "I will Embrace, Empower, Educate every Girl Child, not just Today but Everyday" .

KANGPOKPI

The Deputy Commissioner Kangpokpi, Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS along with District Programme Officer and DLOs celebrated the 10th years of "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" (Save the Girl Child) at the Conference Hall Kangpokpi District.

Speaking on the occasion, the District Programme Officer highlighted the numerous activities that have been undertaken under the scheme and their positive impact in overcoming gender biases and empowering girl education in the district.

A pledge was also administered in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Kangpokpi Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS along with DLOs presents.

The celebration programme was also attended by Lamminlal Simte (MCS), SDO Champhai, Len Singsit (MCS), SDO Island, Paotinsei Kipgen(MCS) SDO Saitu-Gamphazol, Official from CRPF other districts administration officer and District Level Officers.

THOUBAL

The 10th anniversary of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme was also celebrated today at the Counting Hall of Thoubal DC Complex, organised by District Administration, Thoubal and District Programme Officer, ICDS Cell Thoubal.

The program was graced by DC Thoubal, Ahanthem Subhas, SP Thoubal, Rakesh Balwal and ICDS Cell Thoubal, DPO, N Parango.

As part of the celebration, the DC Thoubal flagged off a cycle rally from Thoubal DC Complex to Thoubal bazar, carrying the message of "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" scheme.

Later sanitary pads and study materials were also distributed to young girls of the district.

CHANDEL

To mark the 10th anniversary of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme, a sensitization programme on Gender Sensitization of girls and boys and an awareness programme on PC & PNDT Act was held at District Headquarter, Chandel.

At the event, many highlighted the importance of ensuring girl child education, safety and empowerment of girls within the district.

The Deputy Commissioner of Chandel, in his speech encouraged the youth to dream big and make a significant impact on society through their actions.

UKHRUL

The Ukhrul District Administration in collaboration with ICDS Cell, Ukhrul and District Hub for Empowerment of Ukhrul also celebrated the 10th anniversary of BBBP scheme at DRDA Conference Hall, Ukhrul.

Ahead of the celebration programme, ADM Ukhrul, Kajaigai Gangmei flagged off a bike rally to spread the message of BBBP scheme across Ukhrul town.

As part of the campaign, a signature campaign was also held.
