APYO, AMRPSWA condemn Tronglaobi tragedy

The All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association (AMRPSWA) has strongly condemned the recent violence at Tronglaobi inBishnupur district that left several dead and injured.
In a press note released today, AMRPSWA expressed profound grief over the incident extending their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wishing a speedy recovery for those injured.
The association said such violence is a major setback for the State and affects all sections, from students and educators to business and professional sectors.
AMRPSWA noted that the atmosphere of fear and instability is severely hindering students' academic progress.
"Students represent the future of Manipur, and they are being deprived of a peaceful environment needed for their growth", the press note said.
The association appealed to all sections of society to exercise restraint and work to restore peace and normalcy.
AMRPSWA urged the authorities to take necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of all citizens and to safeguard the educational sector from further disruption.
AMRPSWA concluded with a plea for unity, urging everyone to come together to protect the future of the State's youth and foster an environment where education and progress can flourish once again.
Meanwhile, the Ayangpalli Progressive Women's Organisation (APWO) has expressed anguish over the bomb attack at Tronglaobi Awang Leikai on April 7 that killed two toddlers in their sleep and left their mother critically injured.
In a release, the APWO denounced the attack and demanded justice.
It also called for an end to the ethnic violence in Manipur since May 3, 2023 .
